On March 3rd, Carly Jensen, a cheerleader at the College of the Sequoias, was crowned Miss Visalia. Jensen, who has lived in Visalia her entire life, expressed her gratitude and excitement about the win. “Being able to represent my hometown in the Miss America Opportunity is very special to me,” she said. “I have met such amazing people and am able to spread awareness about my Community Service Initiative (CSI) ‘Caring with Carly: The Importance of Mental Health,’ inspired by my mom who works in social work.”
Being a titleholder is more than just wearing a sash and crown for Jesen. “It is my outlet to show the community that you truly can do anything you put your mind to,” she explained. Winning Miss Visalia also means Jensen will compete for the title of Miss California this upcoming June, an opportunity she eagerly anticipates.
