Being in college and having a part-time job to fund parts of it is all par for the course for many students. However, finding and applying for a position somewhere can be hard, but worry not because COS makes the process easier for students through multiple avenues.
Here at COS, there are multiple off-campus job listings on boards throughout the Sequoia building hallways. As well as many other inside buildings with classrooms like John Muir, with information and places to get started.
COS also offers many on-campus jobs through the ESS building and the Handshake app. In order to get started, students should go to the COS website, under student support, go to student employment and there students should find a link to both Handshake and the student employment handbook for working on campus. Then, employment is a step, skip, and a jump away. The next steps would be signing up for Handshake with either a school or personal email. While there, students can also set their preferences with shifts, areas of interest and location for where they’re willing to work. Once done, Handshake has a huge board of listings for on-campus, off-campus, internships, or even positions in companies with pay and hours listed. Handshake is a dream job-listing site for students with all the information and help students need.
With all these opportunities available, finances can’t stop students pursuing their dreams; Get that bag, Giants!
