COS football triumphant over San Joaquin Delta

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, our COS Giants had a tremendous victory over the San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs. After two hard losses to start the season, our Giants needed to secure a victory, before they hit the road these next two weeks.

It was a sunny morning with beautiful weather as our Giants took the field. Crowds of supporters had the privilege to sit in the newly finished COS stadium.

A win for our Giants was of the utmost importance. Our Giants started off the game strong, sending a message to the Mustangs.

After a strong defense open, our Giant’s offense took to the field, led by QB Rilley Garcia. The offense drove the ball and secured a touchdown, with Garcia rushing for the first points of the game.

The momentum for our Giants did not stop, with a powerful drive to the endzone. Rilley Garcia had a huge play, connecting with receiver Noah Williams for a huge 77-yard touchdown pass! Noah Williams was instrumental and finished the game with 105 yards.

The first half proved to be a showcase for our Giants, securing two more touchdowns, which included a huge 67-yard rushing touchdown by Jaylen Laudermi, putting the Giants up 28-0 in the first half.

In the second half, our Giants continued to show out for their home crowd and scored two more times. QB Rilley Garcia finished the game 15-21, with 295 total yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Overall, our COS Giants proved that they are still in the hunt for the division. They are scheduled to hit the road these upcoming two weeks.
