Beginning Feb. 18th, COS students and community members will have a new creative outlet on the Visalia campus.
The My Voice Media Center is offering free art sessions as part of a mental health outreach program running through April 29th.
The sessions focus on adults experiencing mental illness as well as adults who support them. Organizers describe the program as a space where participants can explore creativity in a welcoming environment, regardless of experience level.
The weekly sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12 to 2 p.m. Locations will alternate between the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and the upstairs area of the Giant Forest building.
Sessions at the LRC will take place on Feb. 18th, March 18th and April 15th. Sessions at Giant Forest are scheduled for Feb. 25th; March 4th, 11th and 25th; and April 8th, 22nd and 29th.
The sessions are free to attend, and materials will be provided. Held midweek, the program dedicates time for creative expression as part of a broader mental health outreach effort, offering participants space to pause and focus on creativity in a supportive campus environment.
