College of the Sequoias delivered a strong defensive performance and controlled the pace from start to finish in a 61–39 win over the Merced Blue Devils in a home matchup for men’s basketball.
From the opening minutes, the Giants set the tone with aggressive defense and disciplined offense, forcing the Blue Devils into tough shots and capitalizing on turnovers. COS jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, steadily building momentum as the game progressed.
The Giants moved the ball well on offense and took advantage of trips to the free-throw line, extending their lead while keeping Merced from finding any consistent rhythm. By halftime, the Giants had already established a comfortable cushion, putting pressure on the Blue Devils to play catch-up for the rest of the game.
Although Merced attempted to rally in the second half, COS’ defense remained locked in. COS continued to contest shots, control rebounds, and convert scoring opportunities, preventing any serious comeback attempt. The home crowd stayed engaged as the Giants maintained control on both ends of the court.
With balanced scoring and steady execution, the Giants closed out the game confidently, securing the 61–39 victory and showcasing their defensive strength and teamwork. This epic win marks another strong home performance for College of the Sequoias as the men continue to build momentum heading into the season.
