As high school seniors prepare for life after high school, many students are making big decisions about their futures including whether to attend our very own College of Sequoias (COS). To learn more about students’ prospective plans, the Campus Journal interviewed six seniors about their post-graduation goals and how they feel about attending COS.
Maria, who plans to study nursing, said she is strongly considering the College of Sequoias. ‘The nursing program at Sequoia is well-known and the smaller class sizes make it easier to focus,” Maria says. Another high school senior, Jacob, wants to major in computer science, also sees COS as a smart starting point explaining, “I’ve heard they have great transfer programs to universities.”
Elena hopes to become a teacher and views COS as a practical choice, stating, “Starting at Sequoia will help me save money before transfer.” Others like Daniel, who plans to study business in the future, has different plans. “I’m thinking about going straight to a four-year university to get the full college experience,” he said.
Sofia is still deciding but sees benefits in attending COS .”It’s affordable and close to home,” says the high school senior.
Finally, Leo, who’s interested in automotive technology, is confident about his choice. “COS’ automotive technology program is interesting,” says Leo. ”That’s exactly what I’m looking for.” he concludes.
In the end, COS offers strong programs and transfer pathways with affordability in mind, keeping COS an appealing first step for many students as they prepare for life after high school. For more information about what programs and majors are offered at COS, visit www.cos.edu.
