Former COS student and former member of The Campus Ashley Cortez is in need of support from the local community and all those who have the means to help.

After graduating from Golden West High School, Ashley Cortez began attending COS as a journalism major.

Ashley joined The Campus as a staff reporter during the Fall 2021 semester, before taking on the Multimedia Editor role in Spring 2022. Throughout her time at The Campus Ashley created video and audio content, formatted websites, and wrote articles on a variety of topics such as local events, politics, and pop culture.

Cortez’s parents, Russell and Melissa Cortez, unexpectedly passed away on Sept. 5, 2022. They leave behind Ashley and her younger brother, Frank. Ashley and Frank must now lay their parents to rest and support themselves financially.
