Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when filming the Campus Journal segments? There are many parts to this process that include pre-production, production, post-production, and delivery. This process seems like it may take a while, but it just depends on how the team works to get the job done.
First, we start with pre-production, which takes place before the filming starts. This includes planning a day and time to film, figuring out what stories the anchors are going to be teasing for that week and what sports are having games, and the anchors write their script for the episode.
Next is production, which is the filming part of this process. During this time the camera person sets up the camera for filming, the green screen, and gets the microphones ready. After this is done it’s all up to the anchors to say their lines and get as many takes as possible for safe measures and the editor to choose from.
Now the process where all the magic happens in creating the video is postproduction. At this time the editor gets the footage and puts the video together from the intro to the outro, adding music, b-roll, and captioning.
To finish up this process is the delivery; once the editor is finished editing the final video, they send it over to be reviewed by Clare who is the Editor-In-Chief for the Campus Journal.
From there, it gets sent over to Rheanna Gallegos who runs our Instagram page to upload the video for that week. That is the process of what goes on behind the scenes of filming with the Campus Journal.
