Aquilla Cloyd, Staff Writer
Hi! I am Aquilla Cloyd and I like to go by Quilly. I am the staff reporter for our College of the Sequoia’s newspaper. I am majoring in environmental journalism and am almost finished getting my associate's degree in liberal arts. I plan to further my education and get a bachelor's degree in Journalism. After college, I would like to work for a non-profit organization specializing in ocean conservation.
You may see me grabbing an iced coffee at the Grind and enjoying a chat while on campus. I came from a small town near Yosemite called Sonora, but moved to Hanford for my husband’s schooling and I started my college education in my 30’s. I love being out in nature whether it is at the beach or in the mountains.
I have a big heart when it comes to animals and have rescued several cats and dogs in this area. I love finding ways to make the Earth a better place to live and one way is by using pet-friendly and sustainable products. I have a passion for anything artistic such as DIY projects, being creative with resources, painting, singing, Halloween makeup, and outfits. I am determined to finish school and teach others about the environment and ways we can help save our planet.
