As we settle into our classes and reach the halfway point of the semester, tests, exams, and finals quickly approach. This means many students may be in a frenzy to get everything ready, leading to more stress. COS is dedicated to ensuring students are not alone in their preparation efforts. They offer many tools to help students achieve that perfect score, from getting help at the ESS building to receiving support at the Access and Ability testing center. One key event aimed at helping students cope is the upcoming Midterm Distress Event, hosted by the COS Student Health Center and happening at the Visalia campus on October 8th and 9th from 10am-1pm.
Given the opportunity to talk with Jennifier Vang, she added, “This event is a way to get students’ minds away from the exams and have some fun, it’s also a great way to make new friends on campus”. When asked her if she knew some helpful tips for the students to get ready, she emphasized, “sleep is your best friend, do not go a day without it. Always ask for help even if you think you do not need it. Communicate with your professors, and always stay on top of your work. If you missed any assignments or need further explanation, reach out to them”.
Students, stop by the table to chat with our health center coordinators and get tips on how you can prepare yourself for the upcoming midterm exams. Don’t forget to pick up your de-stress goodie bags to take with you!
