The new semester has officially started and everyone is settling into their school routine. Part of that routine may be to see what’s happening on campus. The College of the Sequoias has many activities happening this Fall, one of them being Celebrating Diversity next month in the quad.
Diversity is dedicated to celebrating and learning about diverse cultures and identities in the U.S. and beyond. Many colleges in California celebrate diversity. This diversity creates a world of people who bring a broad range of social, physical, and cultural attributes to society. It’s also an opportunity to appreciate the diverse communities that enrich. American culture and life.
College of the Sequoias will be hosting its Fall 2024 Diversity Fair on September 26th from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Visalia campus quad. There will be vendors serving up amazing, diverse foods as well as fun activities students can enjoy.
The Language Center, located at the ESS building, will also be hosting diversity workshops for the Fall semester. The first one will be National Heritage Month and Cultural Tradition and Taboos. Last year the Language Center, along with the International Club, hosted similar events, such as lantern making, hand-made toatbacks, and games from around the world. Don’t be afraid to get involved on your college campus and don’t forget to stop by the ESS building to learn more about the center and how you can become part of their workshops happening this semester. For more information about the diversity fair, please refer to the attached flyer or click on the link to the Language Center workshop website.
