Election Day is here! Although over 20% of California residents have already submitted their ballots, it’s not too late for you to vote if you haven’t yet. There are several ways you can cast your vote before the day ends.

Secure drop boxes may be the most convenient way for you to return your completed vote-by-mail ballot. In Visalia, drop boxes are located at the Visalia Government Plaza, Visalia Branch Library, and Visalia Courthouse Rose Garden. For the full list of drop boxes, visit https://caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov/. Completed ballots must be dropped in before 8 p.m. today.

Ballots can also be returned by mail, but must be postmarked by 8 p.m. today and received by November 15.

If you prefer to vote in person, you can do so at the Tulare County Registrar of Voters Office. This is also where you can complete same-day voter registration, in case you have yet to register to vote. In-person voting centers close at 8 p.m. today, but as long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you have the right to cast your ballot.

Unsure of what other voting rights you have? Voters also have the right to get a new ballot if they made a mistake while filling theirs out, vote secretly without anyone bothering them, and the right to vote as long as they are registered voters. For more details on voting rights, head to https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voter-bill-rights.

To ensure that your returned ballot is accepted, make sure to sign and date the return envelope that was provided with your vote-by-mail ballot.
