Gavin Newsom Provides Students With Financial Help

As of April, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a financial support system for all students from 1st grade to 12th grade.

Newsom currently has distributed a collective fund of 11 million dollars towards 50,000 public schools. These funds are currently being distributed towards schools within San Francisco County.

Newsom’s administration is looking to expand this financial concept to the rest of California.

The program will provide newly born California inhabitants born from July 1 2022 and over, an open account with a sum of money to get them through schooling when they reach college.

The administration is looking to set up accounts with a total of 3.5 million students this year yet further funding will only provide financial help to a total of 300,000 students in the following years.

Having this program can prevent future students from struggling with debt and financial holdbacks when entering a college of their choice.
