California Bill May Add Mental Health Hotline Number to Student IDs

A recent bill has been in place for adding a potential mental health hotline for student cards.

Similar to the current placement of suicide hotlines on the back of high school IDs in the modern day, these additions will benefit future needs of students. Specifically, adding mental health hotlines can give students the ability to find help for stress and burnouts when working.

Although many student campuses such as College of the Sequoias have a health center, there isn’t much availability for students throughout the entire day away from campus.

State governments are pushing for this bill to become national by looking into the causes of mental struggle. Some points of which revealed that these mental issues have originated from the two-year quarantine, making the effort for the bill more necessary.

This bill will prove beneficial to students across the nation if it is passed.
