The most common use for a planner is for work. It helps to keep track of events that are coming up. For example, if you work at an office, this would be something useful to have. There may be a document that needs to be finished before a certain date, and having it written down will help to remember it.

Students also use planners to keep track of their assignments, especially students that are taking multiple classes. They may have a test coming up and do not want to forget the date of it, so they write it down. They may even put dates and times to remember to study for the upcoming test.

In a planner, there is a page you can write down your contact information. You are able to put your name and phone number incase it is ever lost. With this known information, it can easily be returned to you.

If your planner contains blank pages, these can be used to write down your everyday thoughts. Writing down your thoughts can be used as a coping method for your stress. The blank pages can even be used as a grocery list. You can look at your planner and see when you have free time, then head to the grocery store with your list in hand.

 An important tip when buying a planner is buy what you like. If it is not your style, you will more than likely put it in a drawer and never look at it again. Buy what makes you happy, not just the first one you see.
