Quibi: Another Streaming Service, But With A Twist

“Quick bites. Big Stories,” the Quibi app says, as they parade the ease of using their app to get the most interesting and high-profile videos on mainstream media.

The newest of apps pulls from all the top headlines and it enables the user to customize their media right on their phone/device. Among them, CNBC, New York Times, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stones, Blackfilm, and many others contribute to the Quibi app, making it a source for not just news, but also entertainment.

How is Quibi different from other news media apps? It’s a subscription streaming-based app that allows the user to watch quick videos and cuts out the searching and reading so one can get to the heart of the headline, show or source quickly. However, unlike some of the other news and entertainment sources, there is a cost. Quibi is offering a 14-day trial and then the subscription bumps to a minimal $4.99 a month.

They are also rolling out their own shows, starting with ‘Thanks a Million’, backed by top celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, who executive produces, Kristen Bell, Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas and Gabriel Iglesias. Each of the short 11 episodes sees the celebrity giving away $100,000 to someone from their life that has made a weighty influence on them personally.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to have your media customizable, try Quibi.
