College of the Sequoias Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society (AGS) is hosting a fundraiser today, Thursday April 3rd from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the Quad at the Visalia Campus. They will be selling shredded beef, chili cheese nachos for $3 and water bottles for $1. AGS is raising money for their end of the year points scholarship and general funds. Be sure to check out their station in the Quad for a tasty snack!
AGS’ mission is to promote, foster, maintain and recognize scholarships. For those interested in the club, attend one of their AGS meetings on Mondays from 12:00-1:00p.m.. Students can sign up for the club upstairs in the Kern building in room 729B. They can also scan the QR code attached below for a simpler online process. Students should note that there is a $7 membership fee that allows COS to place it onto your college transcripts. AGS is the only club that can be on transcripts, making it great for resumes or college applications. Students who wish to join this club must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and be a currently enrolled student of COS.
Club President Sarah Faria advocates for the club, stating, “Being in the Honor Society is an amazing experience you get to connect with other collegiate members that have the same interests, hopes and dreams. We all dream of becoming successful and productive members of society and being a member of AGS helps you achieve that accomplishment. We all are striving to reach our educational goals, as an AGS member it shows that you are studious, goal and career-oriented.”
