As the fall semester begins, transfer applicants are gearing up to meet upcoming deadlines for their California State Universities (CSU) or their Universities of California (UC) applications. This time can be tricky for students since there is a considerable amount of information to keep track of. Therefore, we will be covering a list of important deadlines and information given to us by the Transfer and Career Center.
The closest deadlines are regarding application updates and official transcripts. CSU’s and UC’s application updates containing fall 2024 grades and upcoming courses are due by January 31st, 2025. Though official transcript deadlines can vary by university, the Transfer and Career Center has gathered due dates as early as January 15th. It is important to note that certain CSU’s have given an extension on their application deadlines. Students are recommended to meet with a counselor for any questions, concerns, if there has been a change to their Student Ed Plan (SEP), or if they have failed/withdrawn from a course. It is also the perfect time to meet with a counselor to apply for graduation if qualified. The set deadline to apply is February 20th. Students can choose from meeting with a counselor or attending a graduation application workshop.
Regarding more relative information for students that have applied for fall 2025 transfer, the Transfer and Career Center provides additional help for your education journey. Throughout January, they offer support drop-in hours for CSU/UC updates and transcripts (flyer attached). They also encourage transfer applicants to sign up for the “Transfer Ready Resource” Canvas course; here, students can view the next steps in their transfer applications, get information on connecting with a University Transfer Representative, as well as staying updated on transfer events (flyer attached).
Speaking of University Transfer Representatives, the Transfer and Career Center is hosting representatives from three universities! To meet with them, students must schedule an appointment in the Sequoia Building, Room 9. They can meet with Grand Canyon University representatives on January 27th from 1:00 P.M – 3:00 P.M, California State University Fresno representatives on January 28th from 10:00 A.M – 1:00 P.M, or Fresno Pacific University representatives on January 28th from 1:00 P.M – 3:00 P.M. The Transfer and Career Center’s office hours are on weekdays from 8:00 A.M to 4:30 P.M — the only exception being this Friday, January 24th, where they will be closing at 3:00 P.M.

Alongside all the information listed, it is critical that fall 2024 transfer students consistently check their emails for more important information and deadlines from COS or their CSU/UC’s.
