The Giant Marketplace provides support for students currently at College of the Sequoias. Officially launched in the fall of 2023, the Giant Marketplace, which offers once a month groceries for students at COS, has items such as canned goods, frozen meals, cereal, hygiene products, fresh vegetables and fruit.
The Giant Marketplace provides more than just groceries; it also provides resources for students. It includes food support services, assistance with CalFresh applications, transportation, technology, health and mental health resources, emergency housing for students experiencing homelessness, and childcare services.
One common misconception about the Giant Marketplace is that it is for only those who face financial hardship. However, the Giant Marketplace is available to assist any current student in need no matter their financial situation.
Employees at the Giant Marketplace hope to remove the stigma that prevents students from seeking the resources that are available and can be beneficial. The Giant Marketplace is here to provide support and invites all students to visit.
The Giant Marketplace is located in Visalia at the corner of Meadow Ave and Mooney Blvd behind the ESS building at COS.
