College of the Sequoias is home to a variety of clubs, ranging from a large selection of social and academic topics. Despite this range of subject matter, COS lacked dedicated clubs for those interested in the fields of Anthropology and History. That’s when the Pathway to the Museum Club was found during the Spring semester of 2023. Combining the fields of Art, History, and Anthropology, the club fundraises for field trips to museums and is dedicated to the pursuit of education and culture. The club democratically elects officer’s to fulfill specific duties. The highest position within the club is the role of President, currently occupied by Giovanni Razzo.
Giovanni graduated from El Diamante High School, and enrolled at COS Visalia shortly after. Razzo’s reasoning for enrolling at COS was apparently, “the more rational decision…” Giovanni later stated that he was initially unsure of what major he was going to choose. Eventually landing on a History degree, as the subject intrigued him the most.
As President, Giovanni is tasked with approving nearly all decisions by club officers and overseeing presentations and meetings, to ensure club members remain attentive and respectful of the others. When asked about his favorite part of being president he said “ working with everybody else… one of my main takeaways from the club was that, I really liked the environment we brewed up, I really liked that everyone was free to go in there, just chit chat, be themselves just create a nice environment just in general… my final goal is just to leave it in good hands, you know leave it the way that i came in with just a welcoming nice environment.”
