The College of the Sequoias Men’s soccer team tied their final conference home game of the season Tuesday afternoon against the Clovis Crush. The final score of the afternoon was 1-1.
The Giants kicked off the start of the game on a high note. Just 15 minutes in, Giants’ Joshua Urista Herrera had a wide-open shot putting the Giants in the lead. The first half of the game was vocal on both sides with both teams fighting some of the refs calls.
With all the noise the Giants pushed through, passing well to each other and took advantage of playing the whole field to keep the lead 1-0. Starting the second half less confident, Clovis was able to tie the game, 1-1. The Giants’ defense struggled keeping Clovis out of the box, letting them take multiple shots at COS’ Zachary Ramirez. Getting past the Giants’ struggling defense, the Clovis Crush were able to get the ball and take a few of their own shots but fell short of taking back the lead by just inches.
The Giants settle for another tie, 1-1. For all upcoming men’s soccer games and other sporting events at COS, go to:
