The College of the Sequoias Men’s soccer team battled Bakersfield College Tuesday afternoon to settle for a draw. The final score of the afternoon was 1-1.
Starting the first half of the game, the Giants had fought through the Renegades’ defense to get down the field to attempt any play. The Renegades kept the Giants away from their side of their field. With COS struggling early on in the game, Giants Miguel Hernandez and Irvin Espinoza came together and found an opening in the field to get on the board first. Wasting no time, the Renegades volleyed to tie the game at 1-1.
In the second half of the game, the Giants were more aggressive. They took more attempts at shooting and passed well to each other.
Giants Zackary Ramirez, alongside his defenders, fought off the Renegades’ shot attempts keeping the score 1-1. They did their best trying to take back the lead but had to settle for the tie.
