The College of the Sequoias men’s soccer team made their way back home Tuesday afternoon after facing Allen Hancock College (AHC). From the beginning of the game, a slow, defensive play style was used by both teams. The Giants offense struggled to move the ball and create opportunities against strong AHC defense. However, the Giants displayed great defense as well, containing AHC’s aggressive offense and keeping the score 0-0 at the end of the first half.
At the start of the second half, the Giants took an aggressive approach by attempting more shots and creating space with the ball, but AHC was very effective as they continued to keep the ball out of the net. As the game went back and forth with great defensive stops by each team, the offensive pressure by AHC was just too much for the Giants as the bulldogs make the score 1-0 at the twelve-minute mark. As the game was ending, the Giants were not finished as they tried to stay aggressive through the final minutes of the game. This ultimately didn’t work as AHC scored once more in the final seconds of the game, making the final score 2-0 as the Giants suffered their first loss of the 2024-2025 season.
Men’s soccer will be back in action soon as they take on Modesto college.
