Four weeks into the season and there are some shocking injuries and even more shocking records across the National Football League. The latest development in concussions and player safety was even implemented this week after a superstar quarterback suffered his second concussion in a matter of days.

The week started Thursday with Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals taking on Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins. This game was a tell-tale sign that safety needs to be taken seriously for a game we love or the repercussions can be very serious. This is seen when Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was seen with his fingers contorted in ways that seem to indicate the very young career of Tagovailoa could be near.

Although the game at halftime was close with the Bengals leading by two, the Bengals ended up pulling away from the game 27-15. Burrow, the Bengals quarterback finished the game with 287 passing yards and two touchdowns and Tagovailoa will more than likely be sidelined for the next few weeks and advice hailing from CTE specialist Dr. Bennet Omalu that the former Crimson Tide should consider retirement with the injuries sustained.

Week 4 was the beginning week for the NFL’s international games when the Vikings took on the Saints in London, England. The Saints were without starting quarterback Jameis Winston as he is recovering from his injuries sustained which include his back and ankle resulting in veteran quarterback Andy Dalton taking the reins.

On the other side of the ball was Kirk Cousins which made the game quite the battle to watch. A “double doink” from Saints kicker Wil Lutz kept the game from going to overtime with a final score of 28-25. Andy Dalton finished the game with 236 passing yards and one touchdown pass while Kirk Cousins finished with 273 passing yards to go with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

The highlight of the 10 am games seemed to come from an unlikely source which was between the Seattle Seahawks and the Detroit Lions. The game at halftime was looking like a runaway as Geno Smith and the Seahawks were up 24-15 until the Lions pulled a 22 point fourth quarter to make the game interesting until the final whistle.

The comeback for Jared Goff and the Lions was nearly complete however the Lions fell 48-45. Geno Smith continues to impress for the Seahawks despite their record as he threw for 320 passing yards and two touchdowns as well as a rushing touchdown while Jared Goff shined through in the loss. Goff threw for 378 passing yards and four touchdowns as well as one interception.

The Raiders got a win! Las Vegas was off to a horrendous start to the season being the only team that was 0-3 but a struggling Denver Broncos team could not find a way to win against Derek Carr and the Raiders. The final score of this game was 32-23. Derek Carr and Davante Adams were able to connect for 9 passes and 101 passing yards as Carr finished with 188 passing yards without a touchdown pass.

Russell Wilson’s struggles were very clear in this game as he only completed 17 passes for 237 passing yards and two touchdowns to go with 29 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Broncos seem to grow frustrated with Russell Wilson however there is still a long season ahead they will just have to be patient.

The game of the week was as advertised as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills took on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The game was incredible to the finish even though the Ravens were up 20-10 at the half. Josh Allen and the Bills led a 10 point third quarter that set them on a journey to shut out the Ravens in the second half and finish with the final score of 23-20.

Josh Allen, the NFL’s MVP frontrunner, finished the game with 213 passing yards and a touchdown pass as well as an interception to pair with a rushing touchdown and 70 rushing yards while Lamar Jackson finished with 144 passing yards and a touchdown to pair with a touchdown as well as two interceptions to pair with 73 rushing yards.

The Sunday Night Football game was a battle between the past and the future of the NFL as Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Super Bowl LVI rematch was an amazing game to watch as the game combined for a total of 72 points however it’s clear that Brady’s career is coming to a rapid end as he could not keep up with Mahomes with the Chiefs coming out on top with the final score of 41-31.

Patrick Mahomes finished the game with 249 yards and three passing touchdowns to pair with an interception. Tom Brady finished the game with 385 passing yards and three touchdowns. It seems as Brady also suffered injuries in that game which comes more clear as retirement has to be near.

To end week 4 Monday Night Football presented the top 2 teams in the NFC West as the San Francisco 49ers took on the defending Super Bowl champs the Los Angeles Rams. 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan, seems to have Sean McVay’s number as this week made it 7 straight weeks in the regular season of the 49ers beating the Rams. The final score of this game was 24-9.

Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams finished with 254 passing yards and a pick six to who is seeming like the second coming of Steeler legend Troy Polamalu in 49ers Safety Talanoa Hufanga. Jimmy Garoppolo finished the game with 239 passing yards and a passing touchdown who went to none other than Deebo Samuel who finished with 115 passing yards and a touchdown.
