The Little Things review
Desperate Times Calls for The Little Things
The Little Things is the latest release from Warner Bros. and HBO Max following last month’s Wonder Woman 1984; and much like its predecessor, it fails to stick the landing.
Academy-Award winning actors Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto star in the psychological crime thriller with a“seen one, seen them all” plot. Denzel plays a small-town Deputy who works together with a big city Detective, played by Malek, to solve a case. Leto is typecast as the suspected killer and gives what should have been his Joker performance in Suicide Squad.
The suspense builds throughout the film, crafted well by Director John Lee Hancock, but the ending leaves you wondering why you stuck around in the first place. The most interesting aspect of the story was Denzel Washington’s character living in Kern County, but unfortunately, his twenty million dollar salary for such a poorly written film isn’t justified.
Unless you are a fan of the actors, or desperate for a new release; sit this one out. If you want a better version of this movie, seek out titles such as Seven and L.A. Confidential.
The Little Things is out now and an exclusive to HBO Max and select theatres.
