COS Softball to battle San Mateo Bulldogs Friday
The COS Giants softball team travels to San Mateo Friday to battle the San Mateo Bulldogs in a two out of three Super Regional match up.
The first pitch is May 10 at 2pm. Game two is on May 11 at noon. If needed, the deciding game will follow at 2 p.m. The winner goes onto the state championship.
Last Friday, the ladies took on Foothill in the first round Regional playoffs. The Giants lost the first game 1-0, but came back to sweep the next two games on Saturday, 5 – 4 and 4 – 2.
“We are coming in with a lot of fire,” said Coach Cori. “We are all at our peaks, going into this weekend.”
Women’s softball had an outstanding regular season placing first in the Central Valley Conference (CVC) for the second consecutive year.
Arianna Guzman was voted CVC pitcher of the year, tossing 27 wins and an ERA of 2.08. Jenna Reyes, Audra Pratt, and Audrey Cardoza all made first team CVC. Elizabeth Valdez, received honorable mention.
