On Wednesday September 17th, 2025, College of the Sequoias Visalia hosted their 9th Annual Job Fair. This year’s job fair was a success with many different jobs that were hiring, informing people about the job, offered opportunities for volunteering and even internship opportunities. Many different students from all three COS campuses took advantage of this opportunity. There was a great turnout of jobs that gave students many different options and opportunities to try to get a job, especially if it would be their first job. This allowed students to meet with a worker or a manager at the store, restaurant, or company and ask all the questions they have about the job or jobs they offer.

One of the employers that caught the attention of many was Texas Roadhouse. Many students were excited to check out their booth today at the job fair. Noemie Dioba, a worker at Texas Roadhouse, mentioned that “Even before we even finished setting up the table, we only had our sign up and people were coming up and excited.” Dioba also mentioned how right now was the perfect time to apply because they will be needing seasonal workers coming up around the holidays.

Another booth that was doing very well was the retail store Buckle. They are a well-known business with a store in the Visalia Mall. Something that many may not know and had found out at the job fair is that Buckle is very helpful when it comes to students in school. Robert a worker at the Buckle store in Visalia mentioned that “everything we do in our business culture allows us to be education rich, so if you know how to analyze a concept same thing in business as a concept in a business.”

Their business is good about not letting employees or future workers not have “bad intentions” so they will understand if you start part-time to get the feel for working, then work your way up to full-time. They also offer internships for 3rd or 4th year students. They are 3-month, paid internships and are beneficial for those who are looking to go into business or marketing.

If you did miss out on the job fair this year, there are many different resources on Visalias campus that can be helpful, including the Transfer and Career Center, Giant Threads, and even Work Experience. Next year’s job fair is going to be just as great, as the campus celebrates the job fairs 10th anniversary!
