College of the Sequoias came alive last Wednesday as students gathered for Club Rush, an event designed to connect classmates with campus organizations and opportunities outside the classroom. The quad energy was palpable as students explored tables, grabbed flyers, and chatted with club members eager to share what their groups had to offer.
For many students, especially those new to COS, Club Rush was more than just a showcase. It was a chance to find a sense of belonging. “It feels great to see so many choices and friendly faces,” one student said while signing up for multiple clubs.
The lineup of clubs reflected the diversity of student interests. From academic and professional organizations like the History Club, Police Club, Administration and Justice Club, and Business Club (ACE) to creative outlets such as the Performing Arts Club and community-focused groups like EOPS, Latina Club, AMEND Club, and Literacy Club, there was something for everyone. Students could also check out the Gaming Club, Young Adult Club, Navy Club, Alpha Gamma Beta Club, and the International Club, which closed the day’s showcase with an invitation for students to explore global connections and cultural exchange.
Beyond the sign-up sheets, the event carried a welcoming spirit. Club leaders offered encouragement, shared personal stories of growth through involvement, and reminded students that participation can open doors to friendship, leadership, and lifelong memories. If you missed Club Rush, don’t worry. Many organizations will continue recruiting throughout the semester. Keep an eye out for flyers on campus, updates through My COS, and announcements on social media to stay connected. At its heart, Club Rush wasn’t just about joining a club—it was about finding a community. And at College of the Sequoias, there’s a place for everyone.
