Welcome back Giants to the 2025 fall semester here at the College of the Sequoias! As classes swiftly approach and impending quizzes, discussion boards and essays become more prevalent in our day to day lives, we at the Campus Journal hope that you had a restful summer break and are ready for the hustle and bustle of the fall semester.
As the semester prevails, the hustle and bustle can start to become too much at times, and we can fall behind academically. If this starts to become an issue, don’t be afraid to reach out to the Educational Support Services building on campus. From Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., tutors are available to help with everything from Language to Math. For more information, check out the Student Support website at: https://www.cos.edu/en-us/library/educational-support-services
If academic help isn’t on your agenda for the day, and you’re looking for emotional support from either a peer or a licensed mental health professional, the COS Student Health Center is your go-to. The health centers on all three COS campuses is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can either schedule an appointment or limited walk-in appointments are available. For more about the COS Student Health Center, visit the online student health center at: https://www.cos.edu/en-us/student-life/health-services
As the mind settles from scholarly stress and panic, make some time for a delicious treat at the many food places available on all three campuses. On the Visalia campus, The Grind, The Grill, and The COS Cafe is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m on Fridays. On the Hanford campus, The Avenue is available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. Finally, on the Tulare campus, the Student Store offers premade and healthy meals Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Whether you are a returning Giant coming back to complete an associate’s degree or certification, or a brand-new student starting their Giant journey for the first time, we hope that your fall semester runs smoothly. Have a great semester Giants!
