Giants Dam Up Feather River in OT

An Overtime thriller at the Mineral King Bowl took place last Saturday afternoon. The Giants took down the Golden Eagles of Feather River 30-24.

The game started slow but the teams picked up their momentum in the second half. At halftime the score was tied 10-10, and it was tied again at the end of regulation at twenty-four. The Giants scored first in overtime, and the extra point was blocked. The Giants then got the stop on defense. Winning the game.

Quarterback Gus Villareal was 24-38 with 374 yards and 3 touchdowns. Villareal also had 19 rushes for 45 yards.

Running back Devotee Green had 14 rushes, 63 yards and 4.5 yards per carry. Green also scored a touchdown on the ground. Green also had three receptions for 21 yards.

Wide receiver Bryson Allen had four receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown, including an 88 yard reception.

Sergio Pena had six grabs for 106 yards and a score.

Coleman Jones a grab for thirteen yards, but his biggest play was a thirty yard kickoff return when the Giants needed the momentum.

The defense was solid for most of the game, forcing many three and outs and turnovers on the day. The defense held fast, and won the game with crucial stops in overtime and regulation.

Linebacker Judah Ruckman had 13 total tackles, including four for loss and two sacks, and a forced fumble.

Defensive-back, Noah Beukurs had 11 tackles, Bobby Peele had the overtime sealing interception, getting the pick in the end-zone and taking it back to the 46.

The Giants have two road games in a row, at Chabot on the 14th and at Siskiyous on the 21st.

The Giants come back home on the 28th to take on Santa Rosa.
