COS Ag Department was recognized for supporting the California Future Farmers of America (FFA)Youth Program.

The Ag Department has been awarded with the FFA’s Distinguished Service Citation award. The Distinguished Service Citation, according to the official FFA site, honors organizations, agencies, businesses or other groups who have made outstanding contributions to FFA and agricultural education on a national level

Josiah Mayfield of the FFA said “[The award is] the highest honor our state association can bestow on an organization.”

Mayfield invited representatives from the COS Agriculture department to be special guests at the 91st Annual California State FFA Leadership Conference, April 25 to 28 in Anaheim, California. A recognition will be held April 27.

It is quite the honor,” COS Tulare College Center Provost Louann Wales to be recognized by the State FFA and I am proud to be part of an ag division who commit themselves to serving the agriculture education community.”
