On Saturday, November 3rd, Antonio Sacre, Best Selling bilingual author and storyteller, will be sharing his books at the Visalia Branch Library Blue Room.  The event will be hosted from 4 to 5:30pm.  The event is targeted for kids and parents, but all are welcome to come and enjoy the rich stories. 

Sacre’s stories draw from his Cuban and Irish-American Heritage.  Among many, his most famous books include: The Barking Mouse, My Name is Cool: 18 Stories from a Cuban-American Storyteller, A Mango in the Hand, La Noche Buena: A Christmas Story. 

After receiving his Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Boston College and a Masters of Arts in Theater Arts from Northwestern University, Sacre would go on to became an accomplished professional actor and author.  He has presented at the Kennedy Center, the National Book Festival at the Library of Congress, and he National Storytelling Festival.  Aside from these, Sacre has given many presentations at local museums, libraries, schools, and festivals around the world. 

After his many years of work, Sacre has racked up a considerable number of awards.  These include the Ethnic and Folk Arts Fellowship from the Illinois Art Council, the American Library Association’s Notable Recipient Award, and the National Association of Parenting Publications Gold Award.
