Deadline Approaches For Student Senate Candidates

The deadline to apply for a 2018/ 2019 position in the student senate is April 17 at 4 p.m.

A candidate open forum will be held on April 30 at 12:15 p.m. in the quad/stage area.

The student senate positions are President, Vice President, Student Trustee, Student Ambassador, Commissioner of Activities, Commissioner of Clubs, Commissioner of Finance, Commissioner of Publicity and Commissioner of Records.

All officers will serve the full academic year in which they are elected for. It is essential that all officers have or maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0. Student Trustee requires a 2.5.

All officers should be enrolled in the student senate leadership certificate courses for the fall and spring semester.

Election petitions are available and can be picked up and submitted at the Visalia campus Student Activities and Affairs office, Hanford campus at the HUB and Tulare campus at the Student Services Building A. 25 signatures are required.

Voting will be online and start on Monday April 30 through Friday May 4. On May 2 and 3 a voting table will be set up in front of the Student Affairs and Activities office with laptops and staff to assist with voting online.

Election results will be announced and posted on May 8.
