Mobile Pantry is Giving Away Free Produce Today For The Last Time This Semester

The COS Tulare Health Center is hosting their last mobile pantry food distribution this Thursday.

The mobile pantry who is in collaboration with the Community Food Bank and distributes fresh produce on certain days throughout the semester. Their goal is to offer free fresh produce to people who are in need of food.

The COS nurse Cynthia Norvall is the coordinator of the mobile pantry. The mobile pantry will take place at the Tulare campus, in the parking lot by building B. The food distribution will start at 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The mobile pantry encourages students to bring bags to fill up with fresh produce.

Most of the produce that is collected from the Community Food Bank is donated from local farm community’s. In result, half of the produce that is received and given out is fresh fruit straight from the farms.

The mobile pantry distributes vegetables, fruit, and canned food to the general public. Students and the community are welcome to stop by and take food, it is absolutely free.
