Baseball: College of the Sequoias skipper Jody Allen managed his 1,000 game in the Giants 13-3 victory over Reedley on Tuesday.

Sequoias was down 1-0 until they exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Dakota Stilson’s RBI double scored Lucas Underhill and evened the game at 1-1.

The six-run inning was capped off by Zac Hernandez who’s double plated three Giants.

COS (15-6, 3-1 CVC) added seven runs of insurance in the sixth and seventh innings.

Giants’ pitcher Alex Garcia earned the win on the hill, tossing six innings with eight strikeouts, earning his fifth win of the season.

At the plate,Tucker Mendonca and Gabe Corona each posted two hits and drove in three runs.

COS will travel to Reedley for the second game of the series on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. The series finale is set for 1:00pm this Saturday at Giants Stadium in Visalia.

Softball: Giants pitcher Ashley Paradine earned her eighth victory of the season in the circle on Tuesday’s 6-2 victory over West Hills-Coalinga.

COS (15-7, 5-1 CVC) wasted no time tagging Falcons pitcher Chase Martinez. In the bottom of the first, Brittney Howard tripled to score Alondra Zavala and Madison Montemayor. Howard crossed the plate on Josey Burke’s RBI fielder’s choice.

Sequoias added one run in the third, fourth, and fifth inning to seal the win.

Howard led COS at the plate, knocking in two runs on three hits in the Central Valley Conference matchup.

The Giants are currently second in the CVC standings and will host seventh place Porterville in a doubleheader on Thursday. First pitch for game one is at 1 p.m., with game two slated for 3 p.m.
